MIS Salary Survey Page for Students
I will post links here for MIS-related Salary Surveys as they come available. IMPORTANT: You need to take these surveys with a "grain of salt." Sometimes they represent a self-selected and biased sample of people who WANT to show higher, or lower, salaries. These should help you get a feeling for the salary ranges, but that's all. Regional and industry variations are quite common, as are external issues like the economic climate and personnel shortages.
2004 HIMSS Healthcare CIO Salary Survey
1999-2000 AACSB Salary Analysis and 2002-2003 AACSB Salary Analysis and 2004-2005 AACSB Salary Analysis. Careers in academia can be interesting and very rewarding. You'll need to get your Ph.D. to really get ahead, though. This information can help you set your goals and priorities if you truly want to pursue the teaching and research route.
Computerworld's 2005 MIS Salary Survey Updated October, 2005. This report provides a huge cross section of jobs and levels, and is useful for undergraduate and graduate students.
HIMSS 2004 Salary Survey: MIS/IT career information in the healthcare field. This is only one facet, too, since it generally focuses on the hospital side of things. There are parallel career paths in manufacturing (devices and drugs), and with the government.
